Many of our wonderful customers have asked to consign jewelry in The Pear Tree. Space has always been the number one reason why this was difficult to say yes to, but we've put our heads together to create a solution?
The Pear Tree presents the 1st ANNUAL DESIGN TO CONSIGN CHALLENGE!
***Proceeds of this event may be donated to the charity of each participant?s choice (and matched by The Pear Tree up to 30%!)***
The Pear Tree customers will have the opportunity to enter 1 piece of original, handmade jewelry for display in The Pear Tree for two weeks. The entry fee is $10.
During the two weeks the artists? jewelry is on display, the public is encouraged to come into the shop to vote on their favorite piece? and purchase a piece of jewelry if they are so inclined! Purchased pieces can be removed for the buyer only after the 2 week display period is over.
The 3 artists who collect the most votes on their pieces will receive the following:
1st Place:
$20 gift certificate to The Pear Tree
2 additional weeks to display/sell 1 piece of jewelry in The Pear Tree?s front window showcase
Name and picture of piece sent out to our mailing list
2nd Place:
$15 gift certificate to The Pear Tree
1 additional week to display/sell 1 piece of jewelry in The Pear Tree?s front window showcase
Name and picture of piece sent out to our mailing list
3rd Place:
$10 gift certificate to The Pear Tree
1 additional week to display/sell 1 piece of jewelry in The Pear Tree?s front window showcase
Name and picture of piece sent out to our mailing list
70% of any sale via consignment will go to the artist while the remaining 30% will go to The Pear Tree. If an item is sold, the artist has the option to donate a portion of their earnings to a charity of their choice; The Pear Tree will match this donation up to 30%.
For Artists:
Cost to enter is $10 (non-refundable)
Have the opportunity to sell your jewelry during the 2 week event
Gain visibility for your jewelry
Acquire potential contacts
Raise money to donate to your favorite charity
Important Information: TO ENTER: Artists may drop off one piece of jewelry and their $10 entry fee (cash or check made out to The Pear Tree) no later than 7pm on Saturday, March 15, 2008. Each piece of jewelry must be accompanied with the Artist Entry Form (attached).
IMPORTANT DATES:
All pieces will be displayed on the wall of The Pear Tree on Sunday, March 16, 2008.
Voting will begin on March 16 and end on March 30, 2008.
The top three vote-getting artists will be notified by April 5; the 1 or 2 week time for additional consignment space will also begin on April 5.
VOTING: Excluding the artist, all are welcome to vote on the pieces. At the time of casting a vote, each individual must write their full name on the ticket and the piece they are voting for. One vote per person. Pieces on display will be anonymous and labeled by number so that the jewelry will be fairly assessed by each voter.
