The Atlanta Jewelry Making May Meeting

Welcome to the Atlanta Jewelry Maker's meetup! My name is Brian Gibney and I am the founder of Amalgam Arts, a jewelry studio in Atlanta, close to Decatur. Our meetups will be held at the Amalgam studio at 3172 E. Ponce de Leon Ave, 30079.

We've had ring fabrication workshops, we've taught you how to make earrings...now, how would you guys like to try your hand at some lost wax casting? May 3, from 2-6pm, AMALGAMarts will be holding it's first fingerprint jewelry making workshop. Just in time for Mother's Day, this workshop is perfect for making a unique gift for that special woman in your life. Bring the kids in, make impressions of their fingerprints in wax (or use your own...it's not just for kids!) and our staff will use it to cast one-of-a kind earrings or bracelets in sterling silver. Jewelry will be ready for pickup the following Saturday (May 10). Cash or check only.

This workshop gives you a few options--you can make earrings ($50), pendants ($70), and bracelets ($125) (cash or check only) and provides a comfortable, casual, and productive environment. In addition you can view our jewelery for sale and learn about our other classes, not to mention meet other aspiring and professional jewelers to see what all of your neighbors are up to! Feel free to bring friends and family...it's the perfect opportunity to make a piece of jewelry to give to a loved one...or keep for yourself!
