I've never been to a meetup so I'm winging it and would be happy for any input or help.

Feel free to bring some things you've created and a project to work on (but feel free to just come to look, too.) I'll bring some things I've created and a lot of inspriational books, magazines, and DVDS that I've collected. I think other beaders will enjoy them, too.

I'm thinking about something informal where people can bring things they are working on and see what others are doing. Those who are interested may share tips and techniques with others.

In the future I'd like to see nights where one of us or a guest runs short classes. I do training on other topics so would be happy to give it a shot if others are interested.

First meeting will be 6-8 pm at
Stony Creek Bead & Gallery
2060 Whittaker Rd
Ypsilanti, MI 48197

Stony Creek Bead is located one mile South of I-94 at Exit 183 (Huron Street) in Paint Creek Crossing shopping plaza. There is plenty of free parking as well as a number of restaurants and stores in case you'd like to combine this meetup with dinner out and/or shopping errands.

    •  Nancy is wonderful! She ran the meeting in a coordinated and timely way. Nancy is knowledgeable and she has a warm, non-threatening manner with others. Susan, the owner of Stony Creek Beads is helpful, accomodating and very interested in teaching others about various beading projects and techniques. The group is a great mixed of experienced, seasoned beaders and newer folks wanting to learn. I'll be back to the next group! It was fantastic!
    •  Nancy did a great job of organizing this first meeting, and we all had a great time getting to know each other. We learned a lot about each other and our bead experience. Our next meeting will be more hands-on... playing with beads is what we all want to do!
    •  Terrific meeting - seems like an open, warm group of women willing to share their knowledge and skills. We identified a number of mutual areas of interest (i.e., marketing, training, access to supplies, skill development. etc.) and plenty to keep us very busy over the coming year and beyond.
